The President oversees the MAP leadership team and helps ensure MAP runs effectively. The President serves as the official contact, communicator, and representative of MAP; works closely with the school leadership team and staff; and must be vetted through the Head of School.

The Vice President assists the President in overseeing MAP and supporting the leadership team. The Vice President performs the President’s duties when the President is unavailable and helps ensure MAP activities and programs run effectively. This person also works closely with school leadership, staff, and MAP team leads.

The Secretary records minutes at association meetings, handles MAP correspondence as directed by the President, and maintains and preserves MAP records and important documents to pass on at the end of the term.

The Treasurer develops the MAP yearly budget, keeps a record of all income received and expenditures made by MAP, and provides a written treasurer’s report at each meeting. The Treasurer also handles reimbursements and tax-exempt items and serves as MAP’s point person with the school’s accounting department.

The Communications Lead handles the creation and distribution of all MAP-related media and marketing. This may include emails, The Compass newsletters, website content, and social media. This person also coordinates with the school’s marketing representative.

The Activities Coordinator plans and assembles a team to run school events, including, but not limited to, carnivals and festivals. This person also spearheads fundraising for events when needed.

Bless Our Teachers: Madison Webb (Lead) Kelsi Kresin (Co-Lead)

Bless Our Teachers provides a meal for teachers each month. This may include breakfast, lunch, or snacks with specific themes and door prizes. Volunteers may be needed to help decorate, set up, and clean up.

Elementary Classroom Parent Coordinator: Jessica Samuels

The Elementary Classroom Parent Coordinator communicates with and coordinates the classroom parents throughout the year. This includes providing information about class parties, assisting teachers with special events, shepherding new families, and recognizing teachers’ birthdays.

Locker Hugs: Jessica Bane

Locker Hugs gives parents an opportunity to show their students how much they love them. This program is for secondary students in grades 6–12. Locker Hugs are provided four times during the school year. They are decorated, assembled with love, and hung on students’ lockers. The fees collected for Locker Hugs go into the MAP account and help fund Bless Our Teachers and other MAP events.

Mom’s Night Out: Marisa Jones

Mom’s Night Out hosts several events throughout the year where moms can gather and enjoy fellowship through food, games, crafts, or activities such as hatchet throwing and pottery. There is usually a small fee and a limited number of spots, so signing up is important. These events offer lots of laughter and opportunities to build relationships with fellow believers.

Parents in Prayer: Katie Ott (Lead)

Parents in Prayer is a group of parents who gather weekly at the school or off-site to pray for our school, community, and world. Each week, they focus on a different character trait of God and pray for a particular group, including teachers, students, families, and leaders in our community and around the world. They pray specifically for each person by name and claim victory in all they do.

Restaurant Nights: Maria Huggins

Restaurant Nights provide opportunities for families to gather for a meal and fellowship while supporting local businesses. These events are scheduled throughout the school year, and the money raised helps fund MAP events and Bless Our Teachers.

Teacher Appreciation Week is a national celebration held during the first week of May. It honors the educators who inspire and equip our students to reach their fullest potential. The leads assemble a team and invite participation from the school community as needed. Activities may include meals, food or coffee trucks, flowers, words of encouragement, and prayer. The week concludes with a gift for every teacher and staff member.

Teacher’s P.E.T. Marissa Rieder

Teacher’s P.E.T. stands for Pray, Encourage, and Treat. Every teacher and staff member at Maranatha is matched with a secret family who blesses them throughout the school year. Each family receives reminders to recognize their Teacher’s P.E.T. on birthdays, holidays, and during Teacher Appreciation Week. During Teacher Appreciation Week in May, the secret families reveal that they have been blessing the teachers and staff members throughout the year.
