Maranatha Association of Parents (MAP) is an volunteer group of parents who serve MCA by helping build school community, blessing the staff and faculty, and by providing fun activities for the student body. MAP Leadership Team

MAP President, Cori Oglesby

President: Oversees the MAP leadership team to run ensure MAP runs effectively. Serves as the official contact, communicator and representative of MAP. Works well with school leadership team and staff. Must be vetted through Head of School.

Term: 2-year commitment, not to exceed 3 years.

Secretary, Vanessa Couch

Secretary: Records minutes at association meetings. Handles MAP correspondence as directed by the President. Maintains and preserves MAP records and important documents to pass on at the end of the term.

Treasurer, Lisa Childress

Treasurer: The development of the MAP yearly budget. Keeps a record of all income received and expenditures by MAP. Provides a written treasurer’s report at each meeting. Handles all reimbursements and tax-exempt items. Is point person with school account on the behalf of MAP.

Activities Coordinator, Rachel Baumler

Activities Coordinator - Plans and puts a team together to run all school events such as but not limited to carnivals, fun festivals, etc. Spearheads the fundraising, if needed, for the event.

Communications - Handles the creation and distribution of all MAP-related media and marketing. This could include emails, The Compass Newsletters, website, social media, etc. Coordinates with school marketing person.

Bless Our Teachers- Is provides a meal for the teachers every month. This could be breakfast, lunch, or snacks all with specific themes and door prizes. Volunteers may be needed to help decorate, set-up/cleanup.

Elementary Classroom Parent Coordinator, Amanda Crompton

Elementary Classroom Parent Coordinator - This person coordinates the classroom parents throughout the year with information about the class parties, how to assist the teacher with special events, new family shepherding and the teacher’s birthday.

Locker Hugs: Jenny Friederichs

Locker Hugs - This is a way for parents to show their students how much they love them. This is secondary only, 6-12^th grade. Locker Hugs are provided four specific times per the school year and are decorated and put together with love then hung on the students’ lockers. The fees for Locker Hugs go into the MAP account and help fund Bless our Teachers and any other MAP events.

Mom's Night Out: Marissa Rieder

Mom’s Night Out - The Mom’s Night Out has a couple events each year where moms can come together and fellowship over food, games, crafts or things like hatchet throwing or pottery. There is usually a small fee and limited spots, so signup is critical to save your place. There is always lots of laughter and bonding while surrounded by fellow believers.

Parents in Prayer, Cassie Isaacson

Parents in Prayer - Parents who gather weekly at the school or off-site to pray for our school, community, and our world. Each week they focus on a different character trait of God. Each week also has a different focus including but not limited to covering the teachers, students, families, leaders in our community and world. They pray specifically for each person by name and claim victory in all they do.

Restaurant Nights, Beth Collins

Restaurant Nights - This is a chance to gather for a meal and fellowship while benefiting our local businesses in the area. These events are scheduled each month throughout the year and the money raised helps fund the MAP events and Bless our Teachers.

Teacher Appreciation Week, Bethany Dequine

Teacher Appreciation Week - Teacher Appreciation week is a national holiday celebrated the first week of May. They honor the educators who inspire and equip our students to grow in their fullest potential. The Lead and Co-Lead put together a team while also opening it up to the school community as they see fit. Ideas range from meals, food/coffee trucks, flowers, words of encouragement, prayer, etc. Ending with a gift for each teacher and staff member.

Teacher’s P.E.T. - Teacher’s P.E.T. stands for Pray, Encourage and Treat. Every teacher and staff member at Maranatha has a secret family who will bless them all year. Each family will get reminders throughout the year to bless their Teacher’s P.E.T. on their birthday, holidays, and Teacher Appreciation Week. Teacher Appreciation Week is in May and that is when the secret family reveals they have been blessing the teacher or staff member.
