Enrollment Process:

1. Submit Application

APPLY HERE

A pastor recommendation is required for each new application. Within the application, you will be prompted to include an email address for the recommendation form to be sent.

2. Entrance Screening

The $100 application fee covers the individualized entrance screening

Through screenings, we gain a clearer understanding of each student’s God-given strengths and areas for growth, allowing us to place them in classes where they can thrive academically, socially and spiritually.

3. Family Interview

After screening is completed, a meeting with the MCA Administration will be scheduled. This is a time for the student and parent(s) to discuss the student's application, screening and other important school-related information.

4. Finalize Enrollment

If your student is offered admission, you will be walked through the enrollment process which includes paying a one-time enrollment fee of $500, this fee secures your student's spot for the 2026-2027 school year.

Statement of Faith

MCA requires that at least one parent or guardian with whom the student lives agrees with and adheres to the Statement of Faith. MCA also requires that our families regularly attend a local church. Upon application, each student is required to provide a pastor recommendation from their home church.

MCA Statement of Faith

Maranatha Christian Academy is a ministry of Eastern Kansas Christian Schools and is interdenominational in its attitude and emphasis. The school stands and operates firmly on the changeless Word of God as expressed in the following statement of historic evangelical Christianity:

I. We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative, and inerrant Word of God (II Tim. 3:15, II Peter 1:21).

II. We believe there is one God, eternally existent in three persons–Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Gen. 1:1, Matt. 28:19, John 10:30).

III. We believe in the deity of Christ; His virgin birth; His sinless life; His miracles; His vicarious and atoning death; His resurrection; His ascension to the right hand of the Father and His personal return in power and glory (John 10:33, Is. 7:14, Matt. 1:23, Luke 1:35, Heb. 4:15, 7:26, John 2:11, I Cor. 15:3, Eph. 1:7, Heb. 2:9, John 11:25, I Cor. 15:4, Mark 16:19, Acts 1:11, Rev. 19:11).

IV. We believe that God is the Creator of all things, including mankind. Men and women were created by God (Genesis 1 & 2, John 1: 1-5).

V. We believe in the absolute necessity of regeneration by the Holy Spirit for salvation because of the exceeding sinfulness of human nature, that men are justified on the single ground of faith in the shed blood of Christ; and that only by God’s grace and through faith alone we are saved (John 3:16-19, 5:24, Rom. 3:23, 5:8-9; Eph. 2:8-10; Titus 3:5).

VI. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; that they are saved unto the resurrection of life; and that they are lost unto the resurrection of damnation (John 5:28-29).

VII. We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ (Rom. 8:9, I Cor. 12:12-13, Gal. 3:26-28).

VIII. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life (Rom. 8:13-14; I Cor. 3:16, 6:19-20; Eph. 4:30, 5:18).

IX. We believe that God wonderfully foreordained and immutably created each person as either wholly male or wholly female in conformity with their biological sex. The sex of a person at birth is their sex as God does not make mistakes. These two distinct yet complementary genders together reflect the image and nature of God (Genesis 1:26-27).

X. We believe that the term marriage has only one meaning: the God-created sacrament or union of one man and one woman in a single, exclusive, covenant commitment, as delineated in Scripture, distinguished by sexual exclusivity, permanence and devotion to their good and to the welfare of any children within the family (Numbers 30:2, Genesis 2:18-25, and James 5:12).

XI. We believe that God intends for sexual intimacy to occur only between a man and a woman who are married to each other. We believe that God’s command is that there be no sexual intimacy outside of or apart from the man-woman marriage relationship (1 Corinthians 6:18, 7:2-5; Hebrews 13:4).

XII. We believe in the sanctity of all human life, including the pre-born from conception, and consider each person to be of infinite value and each life a gift from God to be cherished, nurtured and redeemed (Genesis 1:27; Genesis 9:6; Psalm 139:13-16; Luke 1:44).

XIII. We believe that when disputes, disagreements, or other offenses arise among members of the body of Christ, it is a matter of grave concern for the whole body. Conflicts that occur in the body should be resolved promptly. We believe God calls us to proceed with one another with “the same attitude that was in Christ Jesus,” and to follow Biblical principles for conflict resolution (Matthew 5:23-24; Philippians 2:5 Ephesians 4:26-27 (Matthew 18).

How to Make Private K-12 Education More Affordable

Providing a high-quality, Christ-centered education is an investment in your child's future. Fortunately, there are several financial options available to help make private K-12 education more affordable for families.

529 Accounts

A 529 education savings plan offers tax advantages that can help families save for private school tuition.

Federal Tax Benefits:
- Growth within the plan is federally tax-deferred, similar to an IRA or 401(k).
- Withdrawals for qualified expenses are tax-free, including up to $10,000 annually for private K-12 tuition.
State Tax Benefits (Kansas):
- Kansas residents can deduct contributions to 529 plans from their state taxable income.
- In 2024, up to $3,000 per beneficiary, per account owner is deductible ($6,000 if married, filing jointly).
- Example: A married couple with three children contributing $6,000 per child ($18,000 total) would reduce their state taxable income by $18,000.
529 to Roth IRA Conversion:
- With certain restrictions, 529 funds can be rolled over into a Roth IRA, offering additional flexibility for long-term savings.

Kansas ACE Scholarships

ACE Scholarships provide partial tuition assistance to help lower-income families afford private school education.

Standard awards:
- $2,000 per student for grades K-8
- $3,000 per student for high school
- Awards cannot exceed 50% of private school tuition
The application window opens in February each year.

Kansas Education Enrichment Program (KEEP)

The KEEP program offers one-time grants of $1,000 per child for eligible families to support educational expenses.

Funds can be used for educational materials, tutoring, music lessons, and academic camps.
Cannot be used for private school tuition directly but can supplement educational costs.
Eligibility is based on household income (capped at 300% of the federal poverty level). Foster children are eligible regardless of income.

Kansas Tax Credit for Low-Income Students Scholarship Program

This tax-credit funded state school choice program may be accessed by families. Funding may be used to pay for tuition at a private school. You may apply for this program through a scholarship granting organization. There are two organizations that Maranatha works with : ACE Scholarships and Renewanation. Click the links for information as to how to apply.

Families who qualify must meet the following criterion:

(1) Resides in Kansas; and

(2)(A)(i) Has an annual family income that is less than or equal to 250% of the federal poverty guidelines as determined annually in the federal register by the United States department of health and human services under 42 U.S.C. § 9902(2); and

(2)(A)(ii) (a) was enrolled in kindergarten or any of the grades one through eight in any public school in the previous school year in which an educational scholarship is first sought for the child; or

(2)(A)(ii) (b) is eligible to be enrolled in any public school in the school year in which an educational scholarship is first sought for the child and the child is under the age of seven years; or

(2)(B) has received an educational scholarship under the program and has not graduated from high school or reached the age of 21 years.

Additional Financial Assistance Options

School Tuition Payment Plans: Many private schools offer flexible payment plans to spread tuition costs over time.
Employer Tuition Assistance: Some employers provide tuition reimbursement or education assistance programs—check with your HR department.
School-Sponsored Scholarships: Many private schools offer need-based and merit-based scholarships. Check with the school’s financial aid office for availability.

What can financial aid be used for?

Financial aid may be applied to K-12 tuition only. Enrollment and extracurricular fees are excluded.

Do I need to apply for financial aid every year?

Yes. All MCA families must re-apply for financial aid during the re-enrollment period every school year. The amount of financial aid offered is not guaranteed year to year.

Is there a deadline to apply for financial aid?

There is no deadline for financial aid applications. HOWEVER, because our funds are allotted on a first come first serve basis, we encourage all families to apply as early as possible.

Are there other financial assistance opportunities?

We encourage families to investigate ACE Scholarships as a potential scholarship option. Please direct all ACE Scholarship specific questions to their website/customer service department. Please note, a FACTS Financial Aid Management application must be submitted prior to submitting an ACE Scholarships application. Please be sure to pay close attention to the ACE Scholarships deadline (found on their website).

ACCESS Program | Student Support

At Maranatha, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to soar!

Our ACCESS program is thoughtfully designed to support students with diverse learning needs who may require more than what a traditional classroom can offer. Through individualized instruction and a caring, Christ-centered environment, we help students grow in confidence and reach their highest level of academic success.

Please note that there are limited spots available within our ACCESS program and that ACCESS classes carry an additional fee beyond standard tuition. These fees help support the specialized instruction, resources, and individualized academic support provided through the ACCESS program.
