Elementary School

Maranatha Christian Academy's K-5th grade students learn how to be citizens of God’s kingdom from a young age.

At MCA, all curriculum and programming are rooted in Biblical truths and a Christian worldview. We offer a challenging academic program, including enrichment opportunities, technology, and the arts, as well as intervention programs for students who need extra support.

Our students are encouraged to seek out the truth of God’s word in everything they are learning and are given many opportunities to live out their faith through initiatives like chapel leadership, service projects, and supporting mission projects.

Elementary Curriculum

Weekly Chapel

Elementary school has chapel on Wednesdays with a message each week that follows our annual theme (below).

All grades say pledges, worship, hear from a speaker, and take an offering for the Peace Children’s Home (whom MCA has supported since 2012). Children Ministry | TGM - Kalluru (truthfulgospelministries.org)
Third - 5th grade students bring their Bibles and are encouraged to take notes.

MCA has also supported City Union Mission since 1986! Our 6^th graders take items from our annual food and toy drive to the mission and have been doing that since at least 2009.

Delicious hot lunches are prepared and served on-site through the Nest. They are $5.50 per lunch with the option to add additional ala cart items (prices vary). Lunches are charged to the family's Blackbaud accounts. Students may also bring a home lunch if they wish.

Select Choir

The elementary Select Choir is for 3^rd, 4^th, and 5^th graders who love to sing! This dedicated group practices on Wednesdays after school all year long to prepare for performances at school events, retirement communities, Crown Center, ACSI Choral Festival, and even in other states.

They work on music reading skills, harmonizing, and adding expressive elements to their singing. The Select Choir members audition for the Kansas Music Educators Association Elementary State Choir. Making it into this prestigious choir is an honor and gives our most talented singers the opportunity to learn from some of the best music directors in our country. It also allows them to perform with other talented students across the state of Kansas.

Select Choir travels each year to other states where they visit historical sites and other fun places while spreading the knowledge of God’s love through their songs.
