Receiving a Bachelors degree in Education from Emporia State, I taught Physical Education for one year in Wichita and have experience in coaching Volleyball, Basketball, Cross Country and Track. In high school Cross Country and Track were my passions and I held the record in the mile at Shawnee Mission North for eleven years. While attending Emporia State I was only able to run one season of Cross Country due to work, my only regret. After meeting my husband Chris, who happened to be the Athletic Director and Principal at Maranatha, I took off teaching until we raised our 4 children. During those years I was the AWANA games director for our church; started a track club in Plevna, KS; and ran a marathon.
When we moved back to the Kansas City area I took a non-teaching job at Maranatha until a position opened up. I coached Cross Country under Bianca Williams, who has been named coach of the year several times; and decided we needed to form a Junior High team which I now coach. The Junior High Track team has had more participants than any other sport in the school yielding 50 or more kids. During the summer I work at Lake Quivira in their summer rec program.
