It has been my pleasure to teach at Maranatha Christian Academy for 19 years. Before coming to Maranatha, I taught Kindergarten and Second Grade at Kansas City Christian, Homeschool Workshops for classes ranging from 5 to 13 years of age, and First Grade at Parsons, Kansas. God brought me to Christian education when I was considering a school for my oldest son. I grew up in a small, rural community and until moving to the city, had no idea Christian schools existed. My heart was thrilled and I felt God’s pull to be a part of shaping lives for His Kingdom.
I like to bring humor and creativity into the classroom. It is a joy to teach the love of God and the love of learning new things to each new class of students. They become my “adopted” children for the year.
I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Kansas State University and have post- graduate hours from Kansas University, Ottawa University, and the University of St. Mary’s. If you see lots of purple throughout the year, you will have guessed that I am an avid K-State fan! Go Wildcats!
