Important Public Information
The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), a Federal law, requires that Maranatha Christian Academy with certain exceptions, obtain your written consent prior to the disclosure of personally identifiable information from your child’s education records. However, Maranatha Christian Academy may disclose appropriately designated “directory information” without written consent, unless you have advised the District to the contrary in accordance with District procedures. The primary purpose of directory information is to allow the Maranatha Christian Academy to include this type of information from your child’s education records in certain school publications.
In accordance with the EPA “Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act” (AHERA) of 1987 (40 CFR Part 763), MCA is required to have an AHERA accredited inspector perform a triennial asbestos re-inspection and update the AHERA Management Plan maintained by the Director of Facilities (DF). The latest re-inspection was completed in November 2016 and MCA will complete the next round of inspections by November 2019. See current letter Asbestos Checkup Notice.
Six month inspections, periodic surveillance and other preventative measures are also on going under the oversight of the DF. These actions have been documented and placed in MCA’s Asbestos Management Plan. A copy of the plan may be viewed by contacting the DF at 913-631-0637.
